Hillcrest Cemetery is located 3.5 miles from highway 71, north on highway 348 and .3 of a mile west on Hickory Street on south side of street, on the McCabe farm. It has also been known as Wayside Cemetery and McCabe cemetery. This is a complete listing of all the enscribed (sic) stones. In addition to these burials there is about 50 native field stone markers, which are not indentifiable (sic). As mentioned in Ms. Eno's "History of Crawford County" the William Burrough born 2 Dec 1795, who is buried here is believed to have been a soldier of the War of 1812. I walked and compiled this cemetery on Mar 14, 2002. * Listed in "History in Headstones", which I found not marker for.
